Top Republican Super PAC Pledges $5 Million for South Carolina Senate Race

The main super PAC supporting Republican Senate candidates, the Senate Leadership Fund, plans to invest $5 million into the South Carolina campaign of GOP nominee Darline Graham as an "insurance policy" to help her succeed. The move comes amid concerns that a Senate seat in South Carolina could be in play. Graham, the sister of late Sen. Lindsey Graham, was appointed to her seat in July at the urging of President Trump. She is a relatively poor fundraiser compared to her Democratic opponent, Annie Andrews, who is outspending and outraising Graham. The money will be used primarily on TV ads to remind voters that Andrews is a Democrat. Democrats are also reallocating resources in preparation for Election Day.
