Oktoberfest celebrations are returning in several communities, with events pairing German food, beer and live music with family activities, contests and local traditions. Dubai’s Grand Hyatt will host its 18th annual festival from October 8 to 25, featuring a Bavarian-style tent, German buffet and Sunday family brunches. Iron Mountain’s 12th annual event is scheduled for September 26, with polka music, food, family activities and stein-holding; Visalia’s longstanding celebration moves to Mooney Grove Park and will offer more than 40 food and drink vendors, entertainment and interactive activities. In Muncie, the Munich to Muncie festival will feature Indiana craft beverages, German fare, live bands and contests, while raising funds for ecoREHAB’s work rehabilitating homes.
