Powerball jackpot climbs to $409 million as no ticket wins the latest drawing.

The New York second-prize ticket was sold at Tops Markets, 9660 Transit Road, in East Amherst.
Ohio’s $150,000 winning ticket was purchased in Wellston, in Jackson County south of Columbus.
The jackpot had gone unclaimed since Aug. 12, when a single Illinois ticket won $1.04 billion.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338; the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.87.
A New York lottery player won $1 million in the Sept. 28 Powerball drawing by matching five white balls at a Tops Markets in East Amherst. No one claimed the $389 million jackpot, which climbs to $409 million for the next drawing with a cash option of about $170.2 million.
Three tickets matched all five white balls in Monday's drawing, each winning $1 million. Besides the New York ticket sold at Archynetys|East Amherst Tops Markets, matching tickets were purchased in Illinois and North Carolina. A fourth ticket sold in Puerto Rico won $2 million by matching five white balls and the Powerball number.
Other players also cashed in on Monday's drawing. A Kansas ticket won $50,000 by matching four white balls and the Powerball. In Ohio, a WTAE winning ticket purchased in Wellston, located in Jackson County south of Columbus, secured $150,000. The winning numbers were 17, 21, 29, 42, 49, with Powerball 7.
The Powerball jackpot has rolled over since Aug. 12, when a single Illinois ticket won $1.04 billion.
