Bay Area Father Arrested After Confessing to Wife's Murder at Hospital

A 37-year-old Bay Area father, Roy Anthony Lopez, allegedly left his three young children home alone before showing up at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose with his wife's gravely injured wife and confessing to her murder. Lopez was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on a charge of murder under Penal Code section 187(a). The children, ages 14, 6 and 3, were taken into custody by the Morgan Hill Police Department and released into the custody of the Santa Jose County Department of Family and Children’s Services. This incident comes as a high-profile shooting occurred near Morgan Hill, where a New York Times executive was fatally shot by his in-laws after threatening to murder his wife and her parents.
