Four Killed in Ambulance Carrying Soldier’s Remains After Expressway Crash in Uttar Pradesh

The ambulance was taking Satyawan’s remains to his native village in Deoria district; one report says the journey began in Chandigarh. The collision occurred around 8 a.m. near kilometre 79.6, close to the Ayodhya–Sultanpur border.
Police said the soldier’s son, Gaurav Singh, 28, and driver Jaspal, 30, died at the scene; his brother Rajan Chaudhary, 35, and nephew Ram Samujh Singh, 40, died while being treated at a hospital in Pithla-Kumarganj.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences and directed officials to expedite rescue and relief work, ensure proper treatment for the injured, and contact and assist the bereaved families.
Sultanpur Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal said he and District Magistrate Indrajeet Singh visited the crash site after receiving information about the accident.
An ambulance carrying the remains of Army Subedar Major Satyawan crashed into a parked truck on the Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning, killing four people. The soldier's son Gaurav Singh, 28, brother Rajan Chaudhary, 35, nephew Ram Samujh Singh, 40, and driver Jaspal, 30, all died in the collision near Haliyapur in Sultanpur district Free Press Journal.

Two people died at the crash scene immediately. Gaurav Singh and driver Jaspal were pronounced dead before help arrived. The other two family members survived the initial impact but died later while receiving treatment at a hospital in Pithla-Kumarganj Rediff.
