FlyDubai Pilots and Passengers Prevented a Major Aviation Disaster During Midair Attack

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed details about a FlyDubai flight incident in which a pilot stabbed a colleague, sending the plane spiraling thousands of feet. The Indian pilot, Capt. Smit Machchhar, unlocked the cockpit after being attacked and an Israeli passenger, Yaniv Hayun, entered and found the Omani pilot attempting to interfere with the aircraft's controls. The plumber pulled back on the aircraft’s controls, while another passenger and crew member subdued the attacker. The suspect is being interrogated in Saudi Arabia and the UAE agreed Israel could participate in the interrogation. President Trump praised the pilot's actions and said Netanyahu and others briefed him on the incident.
