Instagram Launches Conversational AI Assistant to Analyze Creator Content Performance

Edits is a standalone mobile video-creation app, but creators must link it to an Instagram account for the assistant to access account performance data.
The assistant can compare the performance of variations of trial Reels and recommend niche-appropriate trending audio; creators can save suggested audio directly from the chat.
During testing, creator Jaleesa Jaikaran said the assistant suggested mixing seven-second Reels into her usual one-minute videos; another example described a creator whose greenhouse-building videos outperformed his food content.
Meta first previewed the assistant at an invite-only creator event in June, and said at the time that it was also working on a desktop version of Edits.
Instagram is rolling out Edits Assistant, a new AI chatbot inside its Edits video app that reads creators' account data and suggests what to post next. TechRepublic reports the tool analyzes views, likes, shares, follows and audience retention—plus comments and trending audio—to offer personalized content ideas rather than generic chatbot advice. U.S. creators can start using it today with a daily prompt limit, or unlock more access through Meta One subscription.
Creators must link their Edits account to Instagram to unlock the assistant's full power. PetaPixel notes the tool can compare how different Reels variations performed, recommend niche-appropriate trending audio, and suggest everything from video length to hooks and scripts. It leaves creative decisions to humans—the AI just powers the analysis.
Edits Assistant digs into your Instagram performance data to spot patterns others miss. TechRepublic explains it tracks metrics like views, likes, shares, and audience retention across your Reels, then cross-references comments and audience interests to surface what actually works. The AI can tell you why one Reel flopped compared to another. It can even recommend which trending audio clips fit your niche and content style—then let you save audio directly from the chat.
During testing, creator Jaleesa Jaikaran found the assistant suggested mixing seven-second Reels into her usual one-minute videos to boost engagement. Another creator discovered his greenhouse-building videos outperformed his food content by a wide margin. The Next Web notes these are personalized recommendations based on each account's actual data—not guesses.
Edits Assistant launches today for U.S. creators with a daily prompt limit. PetaPixel reports Meta is offering extra prompts through Meta One subscription for creators who want more suggestions each day. The company first showed off the tool at an invite-only creator event in June and said it's also building a desktop version of Edits for later.
