iQOO 16 Launches in China With Massive 8,400mAh Battery and Snapdragon Chip

iQOO launched the iQOO 16 in China as a performance-focused flagship, pairing a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme chipset with a dedicated Q4 gaming chip and an advanced cooling system. Its 6.85-inch 2K Samsung M16 display supports a 165Hz refresh rate, while the 8,400mAh battery supports 100W wired charging. The phone also upgrades its cameras with three 50-megapixel rear sensors, including a periscope telephoto lens, plus a 32-megapixel selfie camera, and carries IP68/IP69 water- and dust-resistance ratings. Reported Chinese prices range from CNY 5,999 to CNY 8,499 depending on memory and storage; an India launch is expected later in 2026, though the company has not confirmed that timing. Leaked specifications for the accompanying iQOO Pad Ultra describe an 8.8-inch 165Hz OLED display, the same gaming chipset, an integrated cooling fan and a 9,020mAh battery.
The iQOO 16’s display is reported to reach 2,800 nits of full-screen brightness and 10,000 nits peak local brightness, with full-brightness DC dimming and high-frequency PWM dimming. Its gaming-focused touch system is also said to use Q-flex control technology to reduce latency.
The rear camera system is identified as a 50MP OmniVision OV50Q main sensor with OIS, a Sony LYTIA 600 periscope telephoto camera with OIS, and a 50MP ultrawide camera; rear video recording is reported to support up to 8K.
Beyond its headline specifications, the phone is reported to run OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 and include Wi-Fi 7, NFC, an infrared blaster, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition.
The leaked iQOO Pad Ultra is reportedly 5.74mm thick and weighs 298g; its 9,020mAh battery is said to support 66W wired charging.
