National Hurricane Center is tracking three tropical waves as hurricane season approaches its peak.

The National Hurricane Center is tracking three tropical waves in the Atlantic basin, including one approaching the Caribbean, as it comes closer to the peak of hurricane season. The former Tropical Storm Edouard continues to weaken, bringing heavy rain and flooding to parts of Texas. Florida residents can expect downpours this week and into the Labor Day weekend, with some areas seeing up to 22 inches of rain. Meanwhile, the tropics remain quiet, which is unusual for this period as it's usually the most active period of the Atlantic hurricane season and the peak date is Sept. 10. The next named storm of the season is Fay.
