Zoe Saldaña Explains Why Lioness Is All The Taylor Sheridan Work She Can Handle

Zoe Saldaña says she is not considering another Taylor Sheridan series because leading and executive producing Paramount+’s “Lioness” already demands substantial work, including months of preparation and long days on set. She said she appreciates Sheridan’s confidence in her and feels the role of Joe McNamara is all she can take on in his television universe for now. Saldaña has not confirmed whether “Lioness” will return for a fourth season, but said she would want co-star Michael Kelly back as Byron Westfield if it does.
Saldaña said Sheridan knows she is “honest,” “tough as nails” and “vocal and opinionated,” in addition to being reliable.
In season 3, Joe is put in a more vulnerable position after becoming a target and having to escape, a demanding turn in her character’s story that Saldaña said she was proud of.
Michael Kelly has joined the cast of “Landman” season 3, expanding his work in Sheridan’s TV universe while continuing to play Byron Westfield on “Lioness.”
Saldaña praised Sheridan for creating complex roles that are not limited by gender or race.
