Central Ohio Expects Sunny Weekend After Friday Rain and Unusually Warm Temperatures

Friday’s rain could total another quarter to half an inch across Central Ohio, with temperatures falling from the low 70s in the morning into the 60s by afternoon as the rain tapers.
High pressure building over the region is expected to bring lower humidity and light winds along with the weekend sunshine; forecasters say the early-week cold front should pass without bringing rain.
A secondary cold front is forecast to arrive late Sunday, followed by Canadian high pressure that will keep conditions cool through the middle of the week before temperatures rebound.
Thursday ahead of the rain is forecast to be unusually warm, with temperatures rising from the low to mid-60s in the morning to the mid-80s in the afternoon and southwest wind gusts potentially reaching 20 mph.
Central Ohio will shake off Friday's rain and enjoy a dry, sunny Saturday with highs in the upper 60s, National Weather Service reports. High pressure building over the region will keep skies clear and humidity low through the weekend, though a cold front arriving late Sunday will usher in cooler temperatures early next week.
Rain across Central Ohio on Friday could add another 0.25 to 0.5 inches of precipitation. Temperatures will fall as the rain moves through — starting around the low 70s in the morning and dropping into the 60s by afternoon, National Weather Service said.
Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs around 69 degrees and northeast winds between 6 and 9 mph, National Weather Service forecasts. High pressure building over the region creates calm, dry conditions perfect for outdoor plans. Humidity will drop and winds will stay light throughout the weekend.
A secondary cold front will arrive late Sunday, bringing cooler air but no precipitation. National Weather Service says the front will pass dry, with Canadian high pressure settling in afterward. Expect morning frost in colder spots and highs dropping into the 60s early next week.
After a chilly early-week stretch, temperatures will bounce back into the 70s by Wednesday and Thursday. Sunshine is expected to persist throughout the week, National Weather Service reports. Overnight temperatures will stay near the low 40s until the rebound kicks in.
