Galil Recalls Lead-Contaminated Cinnamon Distributed Across Six States Over Health Concerns

Galil Importing Corp. recalled one lot of Lior Cinnamon Ground Seasoning after testing by the Maryland Department of Health found elevated lead levels. The affected 90-gram containers carry UPC 794711005484 and lot code GAP11304 and were distributed to retailers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida and Illinois between November 2025 and September 2026. No illnesses had been reported at the time of the recall, but lead exposure may not cause immediate symptoms and can pose serious long-term risks, particularly to children. Consumers should not use the cinnamon and should discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. The company said it is investigating its supplier and strengthening testing procedures.
