Eddie Murphy to Star in First Scripted Television Series at Peacock

Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning actor Eddie Murphy has been cast in The Chairman, a new drama series in development at Peacock by Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner. The show will be produced by 101 Studios and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studios Group, marking Murphy's scripted television debut. This marks the first project between NBCUniversal, 101 Studios/CEO David Glasser, and their longtime collaborator Chris McCarthy as part of his overall deal with NBCUniversal. This will be Murphy's first TV series regular role since his debut on Saturday Night Live. The Chairman will be the first scripted TV project between Murphy and Weiner, who previously served as the creator and showrunner on Mad Men.
