New Polls Show Trump's Gains Among Latino Voters Slipping Ahead Of Midterms

President Donald Trump's gains among Latino voters, which he made in 2024, may jeopardize Republicans control of Congress. According to a new NBC News/Telemundo poll, 49% of Latino registered voters prefer a Democratic-controlled Congress, compared to 35% who favor Republican control. This is a 24-point gap for Democrats, which is twice the party's lead in the September 2024 version of the poll. A separate CBS News/YouGov poll also found Democrats ahead among Hispanic likely voters, with 60% backing a Democratic House candidate and 39% supporting a Republican. These findings could jeopardize the GOP's gains in 2024 when Trump narrowed Democrats' advantage among Latino voter.
