Giti Tire’s new GitiSynergy H3 tire receives OE nominations for BMW iX1 and iX2 models

Giti Tire has officially launched the GitiSynergy H3 with original equipment (OE) nominations on the BMW iX1 and BMW iX2, according to Yahoo Finance. The dedicated tire will be supplied in size 245/40 R20 99Y XL — a high-load rating built for the extra weight of electric vehicles. It earns the top EU rolling resistance label grade of A, the highest possible rating for energy efficiency.
The nomination makes Giti an official BMW tire supplier for two of the brand's best-selling electric SUVs. It follows Giti's first BMW Group OE fitment in August 2025 for the all-new MINI, using the earlier GitiSynergy H2 pattern. The company is now firmly in the same supplier tier as Continental and Michelin.
The BMW iX1 and iX2 are not ordinary cars to fit tires on. They produce instant, heavy torque from a standing start. Their battery packs add significant weight, which is why the 99Y XL "Extra Load" rating matters. And because there is no engine rumble to mask road noise, even a faint tire hum becomes noticeable inside the cabin.
Giti's AdvanZtech 2.0 engineering platform tackled all three challenges. The tire features an aerodynamic sidewall design that cuts cabin noise by a reported 2 to 4 decibels compared to standard non-EV tires, according to Yahoo Finance. Development was led by Giti's R&D center in Hannover, Germany, with validation testing at the MIRA facility in the UK and proving grounds in Spain and Finland.
A BMW "Star-Marked" tire is custom-built for a specific chassis. It is not a standard tire that BMW simply approves. To earn it, Giti had to meet what Nicolas Kluson, Giti's Key Account Manager for European OE, described as a demanding brief. "The OE Homologation List from BMW Group demanded a low rolling resistance tire with no compromise on handling characteristics," Kluson said, calling the nomination "a major milestone" for Giti's business, per Yahoo Finance.
BMW's push for low rolling resistance tires is tied directly to its EV range targets. Electrified vehicles made up 26% of total BMW Group sales in 2025, with 442,072 fully electric cars delivered, according to Yahoo Finance. A tire that wastes less energy means more kilometers on a single charge — a key selling point for EV buyers.
Giti was once seen as a budget or mid-market brand. That label is now harder to apply. The company's brand value jumped 37.7% in the past 12 months to $1.47 billion, making it the fastest-growing tire brand in 2026 according to the Brand Finance Tyres Report, as cited by Yahoo Finance. Winning BMW iX OE nominations is a direct driver of that growth.
OE nominations also shape the replacement tire market. When iX1 and iX2 owners need new tires, they are statistically more likely to buy the same Star-Marked Giti set to preserve the car's original tuned performance. The BMW iX1 sold roughly 4,810 units in Germany alone in Q4 2025, per Yahoo Finance, making this a significant recurring revenue stream for Giti going forward.
Not everyone is ready to embrace the switch. Some BMW owners on enthusiast forums prefer long-established names like Michelin or Continental on their M-Sport trim EVs, even when that means paying a 20 to 30% price premium. Their concern is simple: can a brand still climbing the premium ladder truly match the "driving pleasure" BMW is famous for?
Giti's answer is the A-rated rolling resistance score and the Hannover engineering pedigree behind the H3. Stefan Fischer, Managing Director of Product Technology at Giti Tire Europe, has overseen the company's shift toward what it calls "German Engineering" standards. BMW's own approval process — one of the most rigorous in the industry — serves as the most direct rebuttal to any remaining skepticism, according to Yahoo Finance.
