Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover overcomes bloody injury to throw touchdown in debut

Josh Hoover, Indiana's senior quarterback, had his face mask yanked in the second quarter of the season opener against North Texas, causing him to bleed from the bridge of his nose. Despite this, Hoover continued to play, throwing a touchdown to wide receiver Charlie Becker and setting up Indiana's third touchdown of the first half. This was Hoover's first game with Indiana and comes with strong credentials after throwing 56 touchdowns and over 7,000 yards over the last two years with TCU. Despite a turnover issue (24 interceptions over the past two years), Indiana coach Curt Cignetti expressed excitement about Hoover's potential at Bloomington.
