Tennessee football fans create home atmosphere to defeat Georgia Tech on the road

Thousands of Tennessee football fans attended the team's first road game against Georgia Tech on Sept. 12, creating a home-like atmosphere for the team. Freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon credited the traveling fans for making it easier to operate the offense. The No. 18 Vols beat Georgia Tech 45-24. The game was sold out at Bobby Dodd Stadium and the Vols outscored Georgia Tech 38-14 over the final three quarters of play. Coach Josh Heupel expressed admiration for the support from fans, stating that this is the best fanbase in college sports.
