Liquidity Services Appoints Karen Fascenda as New CHRO, Succeeding Retiring Novelette Murray

Liquidity Services (NASDAQ: LQDT) has named Karen Fascenda as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, effective July 6, 2026, according to GlobeNewswire. Fascenda steps into the role after building her career at high-growth tech companies, most recently serving as Chief People Officer at Udemy and GoPuff.
Fascenda replaces Novelette Murray, who is retiring after 16 years leading the company's global HR function, Stock Titan reported. She will report directly to Chairman and CEO Bill Angrick.
Fascenda has spent over 20 years shaping human capital strategy at high-growth companies, according to Yahoo Finance. Her background spans e-commerce, technology, and business services — sectors that closely match Liquidity Services' core markets.
Before joining Liquidity Services, she held the top HR role at two well-known tech brands. Udemy is a major online learning platform. GoPuff is a fast-delivery consumer goods app. Both companies scaled rapidly, giving Fascenda direct experience managing people operations during fast growth.
Murray spent 16 years as the head of HR at Liquidity Services — a notably long run for any executive, let alone in a fast-changing field like human resources. MarketScreener noted she led the company's global HR function throughout that entire period.
Her retirement marks a significant leadership transition for the Bethesda, Maryland-based company. Liquidity Services did not disclose any transition overlap period between Murray and Fascenda, Stock Titan reported.
Liquidity Services describes itself as the leading global provider of e-commerce marketplaces and software solutions, according to ADVFN. The company helps businesses and government agencies sell surplus and returned goods through online auctions.
The company trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker LQDT. Adding an experienced HR chief signals the company is focused on scaling its workforce to match its platform ambitions, according to GlobeNewswire.
Fascenda will report directly to Bill Angrick, who serves as both Chairman and CEO of Liquidity Services. That direct reporting line gives HR a seat close to the top of the company's decision-making, Yahoo Finance noted.
Angrick has led Liquidity Services for years and has guided the company through multiple phases of growth. Placing the CHRO in his direct chain of command suggests people strategy will remain a top priority for the company in 2026 and beyond, Stock Titan reported.
