Taskrabbit Launches New Global Campaign to Aid Life's Chaotic Transitions

Taskrabbit launched its biggest global campaign ever on June 9, 2026. Called "When Life Happens," it targets people in the middle of major life changes — moving, having a baby, or going through a breakup. The campaign spans North America, the UK, and Europe, with over 2,100 physical ad placements worldwide, according to Business Wire.
The push comes as internal data shows a 91% year-over-year surge in U.S. relocation requests and a 61% spike in Canadian junk removal demand, per Business Wire. Taskrabbit is betting that people overwhelmed by life's hardest moments will turn to its platform — and stay.
Taskrabbit has spent three years repositioning itself. It no longer wants to be seen as a simple errand app. CEO Ania Smith, who has overseen 5x revenue growth since 2020, says the platform is about "getting your world organized," not just finishing tasks. Business Insider reports the platform is on track to complete nearly 4 million tasks in 2026.
SVP of Marketing Tamara Rosenthal shaped the campaign's core message around the "mental load" of big life moments. "No one should have to worry about furniture during a crisis," she said, according to Business Wire. Previous campaigns used humor and song parodies. This one leans on empathy instead.
Taskrabbit's own numbers drove the campaign's themes. Crib assembly requests are up 32%. Pet-safe home modifications — like safety gates and specialized mounting — jumped 64%. In Canada, junk removal requests rose 61% year-over-year, pointing to what Business Wire calls a "purge culture" tied to fresh starts and downsizing.
The U.S. relocation surge of 91% reflects a broader housing shift. Millennials are moving into larger family homes. Older adults are downsizing. Taskrabbit's 175,000 active "Taskers" globally — earning an average of $50 per hour in the U.S. — are the ones filling that gap, according to Entrepreneur.
The campaign's physical ads are placed where stress runs high. Key locations include the London Underground and Berlin's U-Bahn, plus bus shelters across North America, per Business Wire. The strategy is to catch people mid-commute — already thinking about everything they need to do at home.
A previous Taskrabbit outdoor campaign in New York City produced an 8% lift in aided brand awareness, according to DesignRush. That result gave the company confidence to scale globally. Boston-based studio Cintri handled production for the new campaign, focusing on behind-the-scenes authenticity.
The campaign's "premium, reliable support" promise clashes with what many workers report. Community forums on Reddit show long-tenured Taskers describing a 50–75% drop in income in 2025–2026. They blame higher platform fees, tougher registration rules, and an influx of price-sensitive customers, according to posts analyzed by Reddit community threads.
CEO Smith highlights the upside — some Taskers earn $200,000 a year, she told Entrepreneur. But the gap between that headline figure and average worker experience is wide. As Taskrabbit spends to capture 2,100 ad placements worldwide, its ability to keep skilled Taskers on the platform may determine whether the campaign's promises hold up.
