VR Resources Confirms Strong New IP Anomalies at Nevada Copper-Gold Project

VR Resources Limited has confirmed strong new geophysical signals at its Bonita porphyry copper-gold project in Nevada, pointing to a potentially buried copper-gold deposit. The company received final data from a 3D-array Direct Current Induced Polarization — or DCIP — survey over the Copper Queen target, according to Montreal Gazette.
The survey, conducted in February, identified two key anomalies: an IP chargeability anomaly on the south flank of Copper Queen hill, and a second anomaly tied to an Iron Chief specularite syenite breccia body nearby. CEO Dr. Michael Gunning called these signals "the strongest exploration vectors established to-date" at the project, according to Calgary Sun.
A DCIP survey uses electrical pulses to map what lies beneath the surface. It measures how rocks hold and release electrical charges — a key way to spot sulfide minerals often linked to copper and gold deposits. VR's 3D-array version gives a more detailed underground picture than older, simpler surveys.
The survey flagged two distinct anomalies. The first sits on the south flank of Copper Queen hill. The second is near the Iron Chief specularite syenite breccia body — a type of broken rock formation tied to magmatic and hydrothermal activity. Both signals suggest mineralized rock could be buried below, according to Cold Lake Sun.
Dr. Michael Gunning said the new anomalies sharpen the company's focus. He stated the results are the strongest exploration vectors established so far toward "the potential for a buried copper-gold stock or breccia body at Copper Queen and/or Iron Chief," according to Brantford Expositor.
A porphyry copper-gold system is one of the most valuable types of mineral deposits. These large, low-grade bodies can hold billions of pounds of copper and millions of ounces of gold. Identifying buried anomalies like these is a critical early step before any drilling begins.
The Whiskey Bottle hydrothermal-magmatic breccia center sits adjacent to the newly confirmed Iron Chief specularite syenite breccia body. Breccia bodies like these form when hot fluids and magma break up surrounding rock — a process that often concentrates metals. The proximity of two such features strengthens the case for a larger mineral system, according to The Sudbury Star.
VR plans to integrate the new DCIP model into its existing project database. That combined dataset will guide next steps, which may include drilling to test the anomalies directly. The Bonita project now has two clearly defined targets — Copper Queen and Iron Chief — both backed by geophysical data, according to Chatham Daily News.
Nevada is one of the world's top mining jurisdictions. It ranks consistently among the highest gold-producing regions in the United States. A confirmed porphyry copper-gold system there would carry significant commercial value. VR's Bonita project is now better defined than at any prior stage of exploration, according to Daily Herald Tribune.
The February survey results mark a turning point for the project. VR will now work to interpret the full DCIP model and decide where to direct future field work. With two anomalies confirmed and a clear buried target in focus, Bonita moves from early-stage exploration to a more advanced and targeted phase.
