Since its launch in 2021, the Play It Forward campaign has awarded $60,000 total to organizations using golf to raise money for their causes, Montreal Gazette reported. Nominations are now open for the sixth edition.
Any Golf Fundraiser Can Apply for $10,000
The campaign is open to a wide range of golf fundraising events. Traditional 18-hole tournaments qualify, but so do scrambles, TopGolf fundraisers, simulator tournaments, and even mini golf events, according to The Province. Organizers say any creative golf format counts.
The winner gets two things: a $10,000 donation to put toward their mission and a two-day golf getaway at an eligible Dormie Network private club, Ontario Farmer reported. The prize is designed to help the winning group grow its impact and reach more people.
Six Years of Giving Back Through Golf
Play It Forward started in 2021 as a partnership between GolfStatus and Dormie Network. Over five campaigns, it has handed out $60,000 to nonprofits and charities that use golf tournaments to fuel their work, Toronto Sun reported.
