Envision Energy Secures Financing to Construct North Macedonia's Largest Wind Farm

Štip is North Macedonia’s largest wind-energy project to date, according to Alcazar Energy Partners and coverage of the project.
Envision said the project demonstrates how advanced wind technology can “strengthen energy resilience, improve system competitiveness and support broader economic transformation,” extending its significance beyond adding generation capacity.
Alcazar Energy Partners said construction is expected to deliver clean, affordable electricity, create new jobs and generate lasting economic value for local communities in North Macedonia.
The project developer is Alcazar Energy Partners, described as an independent infrastructure fund manager, highlighting the role of private infrastructure investment in delivering the wind farm.
Envision Energy has reached financial close on a 131-megawatt wind farm in North Macedonia, marking the country's largest wind project to date. The first phase of the Štip Wind Farm will deploy 21 turbines rated at 6.25 megawatts each and is expected to more than quadruple North Macedonia's installed wind capacity Alcazar Energy Partners.
The project moves into construction under developer Alcazar Energy Partners with backing from major lenders including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation EBRD. The financing signals that Envision's wind technology has met strict bankability standards from global infrastructure investors.
Štip will be built in three phases, eventually reaching 396 megawatts of total capacity Alcazar Energy Partners. Phase one's 131 megawatts represents a historic shift for the country, which has long relied on coal-fired power plants. The project's scale reflects growing European investment in renewable energy infrastructure across the Balkans.
Each of Envision's EN182 turbines stands 120 meters tall and generates 6.25 megawatts of power Envision Energy. The turbine model is designed to lower the cost of electricity production while improving reliability. A long-term private offtake agreement secures a buyer for the wind farm's output, reducing financial risk for investors.
Alcazar Energy Partners expects the project to deliver affordable, clean electricity while creating new jobs for North Macedonian communities Alcazar Energy Partners. Envision says the wind farm will 'strengthen energy resilience, improve system competitiveness and support broader economic transformation' beyond simply adding generation capacity Envision Energy. The project demonstrates how private infrastructure investment can accelerate the region's energy transition away from fossil fuels.
