Life sentence for murder

Former American Idol contestant sentenced to life in prison for murdering wife.

Caleb Flynn, an American Idol alum and former church pastor, was convicted of murdering his wife, Ashley, in 2000. Despite this, Flynn continued to claim he did not kill his wife and was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Prosecutors allege that Flynn executed his wife in her bed while their two young daughters slept in their rooms to start a new life with his mistress, Alleigha Botner, 24. Flynn expressed remorse for his actions and vowed to continue fighting for his innocence. He also addressed his parents and brother in court as he wept.
