Sarah Jessica Parker Wears Custom Simone Rocha to New York City Ballet Gala

Parker said the abundance of bows was deliberate: “I love a good ribbon. In fact, we asked for extra ribbon.”
The gala program presented three new works. Justin Peck’s pas de deux, costumed by Rocha, was set to Gabriel Kahane’s original composition mirror/sky (landslide), inspired by Stevie Nicks’s “Landslide.”
The gala is also a fundraiser for New York City Ballet; Parker attended in her capacity as a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
Rocha reworked a runway piece for Parker, using pale ballet-pink ribbons meant to nod to pointe shoes.
Sarah Jessica Parker wore a custom Simone Rocha gown to the New York City Ballet's Fall Fashion Gala at Lincoln Center, featuring sheer fabric embroidered with florals and cascading pale-pink ribbons WWD. The look nodded to a Simone Rocha dress worn by Parker's character Carrie Bradshaw in And Just Like That..., bringing the designer's romantic, ballet-inspired aesthetic to real-life glamour Elle.
The gala, now in its 14th year, presented three new choreographed works Vogue. Parker created the event in 2012 to unite fashion designers and choreographers, attracting fresh audiences to ballet while raising funds for the company Vogue.
Parker asked Simone Rocha for extra ribbons in the gown's design. "I love a good ribbon," Parker said Marie Claire. The pale ballet-pink ribbons were intentionally chosen to nod to pointe shoes, grounding the romantic design in ballet tradition WWD. The designer wove ribbons throughout Parker's upswept ponytail and paired the dress with ornate accessories.
Rocha reworked a runway piece specifically for the gala Elle. The sheer tea-length silhouette showcased the designer's signature flourishes — delicate embroidery and generous bows — translating high fashion into evening wear Elle.
Simone Rocha also created costumes for a fresh pas de deux choreographed by Justin Peck, one of three new works premiered at the gala Vogue. The piece was set to Gabriel Kahane's original composition mirror/sky (landslide), inspired by Stevie Nicks's 1997 hit 'Landslide' Vogue. The collaboration merged fashion design with contemporary choreography, exemplifying the gala's core mission.
Parker founded the NYC Ballet Fall Fashion Gala in 2012 to forge direct partnerships between designers and choreographers Vogue. By pairing creative disciplines, the event introduces ballet to fashion audiences while generating critical fundraising support for the company Vogue. Parker serves on the company's Board of Directors, anchoring her role as both creator and participant in the October event.
