October 2026 brings rare skywatching events, television premieres, and seasonal community festivals.

October 2026’s lineup includes skywatching events such as Saturn at opposition on October 4, a lunar occultation of Jupiter on October 6, the Draconid meteor shower on October 8–9 and a New Moon on October 10. HBO’s series *War*, premiering October 1, stars Dominic West and Sienna Miller in a story about a high-stakes divorce between a tech mogul and a movie star. Other offerings include Waterworks’ Easton fixtures with Royal Delft ceramics, Oscar de la Renta’s dirndl collaboration with Annina, Three Sheets’ 10th-anniversary celebrations and a fashion book by Marie-Amélie Sauvé. In Texas, New Caney and Porter have early-October Halloween attractions and a heavy-trash disposal day, while New Braunfels’ events include cemetery tours, festivals, an art market, a railroad show, races and downtown trick-or-treating.
October’s skywatching calendar also includes a favourable evening appearance by Mercury, a close pairing of Mercury and Venus, the Orionid meteor shower and the Hunter’s Moon—events not detailed in the summary.
Waterworks’ Royal Delft collaboration includes hand-painted earthenware handles and countertop accessories in three patterns—Rake, Floral and Polychrome Floral—partly inspired by Delftware at Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum.
Three Sheets’ anniversary plans include a 1 October takeover at its Dalston venue by mixologists from The Connaught, Candelaria Paris and Bar Mauro, followed on 6 October by original-menu cocktails served at both venues for £8 each.
At Big Rivers Waterpark, Boo Rivers is aimed at families, with a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, costume contest and carnival rides, while Voodoo Bayou offers PG-13 attractions including a haunted trail, maze and zombie shooting range. Admission is listed at $19.99 for visitors under 48 inches and $34.99 for those 48 inches and taller.
New Caney and Porter’s heavy-trash drop-off accepts items including mattresses, fencing, furniture and up to 12 tires per person, but excludes tree limbs, paint, chemicals and concrete.
