GE Vernova Secures Major Order for Japan Wind Farm to Boost Renewable Capacity

GE Vernova will supply seven 4.2-megawatt wind turbines for Eurus Energy’s 29.4-megawatt Hiyamizutouge Wind Farm in Aomori Prefecture, Japan. The agreement also includes a two-year service contract with an option to extend it for another two years. The turbines belong to GE Vernova’s 4-megawatt platform, which has accumulated more than 2 million operating hours and was designed for Japan’s wind conditions. The project supports Japan’s goal of generating 36% to 38% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, while GE Vernova said its technology already represents about 25% of Japan’s installed onshore wind capacity.
