Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3 Sells 174,000 Advance Tickets Ahead of October Release

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion, the third and final Hindi installment, is building strong advance sales ahead of its October 2 release, with reports putting opening-day bookings at roughly 150,000 to 174,000 tickets and gross sales near Rs. 7 crore. Box-office expectations range from a Rs. 40 crore-plus opening to estimates of Rs. 50 crore or more, with some projections reaching Rs. 60 crore, though the figures remain forecasts as bookings continue. Trade analyst Komal Nahta cited the franchise’s popularity and the significance of October 2 in the films as reasons for expecting a strong debut. Unlike the first two Hindi films, which were remakes of Malayalam originals, this concluding installment is reported to have a new story rather than adapting Malayalam Drishyam 3.
At the time of one report’s Monday-noon update, Drishyam 3 had sold 55,000 tickets across the three national cinema chains PVR INOX and Cinepolis, with a target of more than 300,000 tickets in those chains by the end of advance sales.
The Rs. 50 crore-plus opening projected in one report would surpass Ajay Devgn’s previous biggest opening, Singham Again, which opened at around Rs. 43.7 crore.
Sacnilk figures cited in another report put advance sales at 1.74 lakh tickets across 6,610 shows in 879 cinemas in 233 cities; the tracked bookings were for Hindi 2D screenings, averaging Rs. 450 per ticket.
The advance-booking occupancy was reported at about 11%, with no shows sold out at the time of the update. The National Capital Region led the city chart, followed by Mumbai and Surat.
For comparison, Drishyam 2 opened at Rs. 15.38 crore net in India and went on to collect Rs. 239.67 crore net over its lifetime, according to the report.
