Maharashtra MPSC Panel Receives Over 20,000 Reform Emails From Aspirants

A Maharashtra government Examination Reform Committee reviewing the Maharashtra Public Service Commission has received more than 20,000 emails from aspirants seeking a more transparent, predictable and reliable recruitment process. The leading demand is a fixed calendar for preliminary and main exams, interviews and results, along with timely communication through an official information source. Candidates also want higher-quality question papers, clear answers, transparent evaluation, advance notice of pattern changes and consistent rules for normalizing marks. The committee, chaired by V. Radha, will consider standard procedures for distributing question papers and conducting exams, safeguards against leaks and malpractice, and protocols for canceled examinations that protect already-selected candidates. After consulting more than 1,750 people in several cities, the panel plans to study systems used by other states and the Union Public Service Commission before preparing its recommendations.
Aspirants have proposed setting a minimum number of posts to be advertised each year and introducing an audit system for the recruitment process.
Candidates have called for an official spokesperson, in addition to an official information source, to improve communication about MPSC examinations.
The committee is examining safeguards against paper leaks and other malpractice in both online and offline examinations.
The committee’s divisional consultations are expected to conclude by September 30, after which it plans to prepare its report within three months.
