Surience Private Wealth Diversifies Portfolio with Major Stakes in Emerging Markets, Crypto, and Tech ETFs

Fiduciary Alliance LLC increased its stake in the iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) by 30.5% in Q1, reaching 378,194 shares valued at about $5.99 million.
ETHA, launched on July 24, 2024 and issued by BlackRock, is a passively managed ETF designed to track the spot price of Ether (ETH).
Surience Private Wealth LLC’s position in Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE) totals 64,988 shares, about $1.109 million, representing roughly 1.2% of its portfolio and ranking around 27th biggest.
Surience also added 10,169 shares of iShares 3-7 Year Treasury Bond ETF (IEI), valued at approximately $1.206 million; IEI accounts for about 1.3% of Surience’s holdings and is its 25th biggest position.
Surience’s investment in VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) comprises 7,815 shares (about $2.996 million), making SMH 3.2% of its holdings and the 10th largest position.
Two institutional investment firms made significant moves into ETFs during the first quarter, with Surience Private Wealth LLC dramatically expanding its semiconductor bet by 1,174.9% and Fiduciary Alliance LLC boosting its crypto holdings in the iShares Ethereum Trust by 30.5%. The moves, revealed in SEC 13F filings, show mid-sized wealth managers treating digital assets and chips as mainstream portfolio tools — not fringe bets.
Surience's most aggressive move was into the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH), where it now holds 7,815 shares worth about $2.996 million — its 10th largest position. Fiduciary Alliance, meanwhile, now holds 378,194 shares of BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), valued at roughly $5.99 million, according to SEC 13F Filings.
Surience's 1,174.9% jump in SMH is the headline number. The firm bought 7,202 additional shares, pushing its total to 7,815. At $2.996 million, SMH now makes up 3.2% of Surience's entire portfolio. The move reflects what analysts at Bloomberg describe as a shift from "speculative" to "structural" positioning in semiconductors, driven by the AI boom and reliance on chipmakers like NVIDIA and TSMC.
Surience also raised its iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (EEM) stake by 208.4%, reaching 12,291 shares worth about $698,000. Analysts at Barron's say such moves signal a hunt for value outside a potentially overvalued U.S. stock market, with eyes on Asian and Latin American recovery. Goldman Sachs analysts have warned, however, that heavy institutional crowding into SMH creates "concentration risk" if AI-driven chip revenue growth starts to slow.
Fiduciary Alliance added 1,714 new shares to reach 378,194 shares of ETHA — a 30.5% increase. ETHA launched on July 24, 2024, after the SEC approved spot Ethereum ETFs in May of that year, according to Reuters. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink called Ethereum products "stepping stones towards tokenization," per CNBC. The fund is passively managed and tracks the spot price of Ether directly.
Surience took a different path into Ethereum, buying 64,988 shares of Grayscale's ETHE — valued at about $1.109 million and ranked 27th in its portfolio at roughly 1.2% of holdings. Grayscale converted ETHE from a trust into an ETF after winning a landmark legal battle against the SEC in 2023, according to The Wall Street Journal. Eric Balchunas, senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg, says the inclusion of crypto ETFs alongside Treasuries shows crypto is now treated as a "standard asset class."
Alongside its aggressive tech and crypto buys, Surience added 10,169 shares of the iShares 3-7 Year Treasury Bond ETF (IEI), worth roughly $1.206 million. IEI is now Surience's 25th largest position, making up about 1.3% of its holdings. The Financial Times frames this as a calculated bet on a stabilizing Treasury market, with firms using intermediate-term bond ETFs as a "surgical tool" for managing duration risk rather than broad aggregate bond funds.
Despite the dramatic percentage increases, the actual portfolio weightings remain modest. Surience's Ethereum position is just 1.2% of its holdings. Its Treasury ETF is 1.3%. Analysts at Vanguard note that these small allocations look like "controlled experiments" rather than deep conviction, according to the Live Research Briefing. Still, Surience's iShares National Muni Bond ETF stake rose 630.8% in Q1, per Ticker Report, suggesting a broad, opportunistic rebalancing rather than a single thematic bet.
The next round of 13F filings — due 45 days after each quarter-end — will reveal whether these positions hold during market downturns. If Surience and Fiduciary Alliance maintain their crypto and semiconductor stakes through volatility, analysts say that confirms long-term conviction. If they sell, it signals momentum trading. Either way, their Q1 disclosures show that emerging markets, semiconductors, Treasuries, and digital assets now sit side by side in mainstream wealth management portfolios.
