Bay Area Heat Advisory Issued as Record Triple-Digit Temperatures Threaten October Weekend

A heat advisory has been issued for much of the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Coast for the first weekend of October, with temperatures potentially reaching triple-digit in some locations. The National Weather Service covers the Sonoma Coastal Range, North Bay interior mountains, San Francisco bay shoreline, and the entire East Bay and South Bay. The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday through 10 p.m., with high temperatures expected to range from the mid-90s up to 103 degrees. Forecasters have warned that above-normal temperatures may continue past the weekend and into next week. To beat the heat, officials have urged people to stay hydrated and limit strenuous activities outside.
