Google Signs $4.5 Billion Nuclear Power Deal to Fuel AI Data Centers

Google parent company, Alphabet, has signed a power deal with Constellation Energy (CEG), worth $4.5 billion U.S. The deal will see Alphabet contract 3,590 megawatts of power from Constellation, which runs America’s largest power grid and will account for about a quarter of the energy supplied to Alphabet for its artificial intelligence (A.I.) data centres. The agreement will enable more than $4,3 billion U.,000 of new investment by Constellation energy and enable capacity to be added at several of the power company's nuclear reactors throughout the U.N. The first power purchase agreement for 890 megawatts from multiple Constellation-owned nuclear power plants is set to begin in 2028.
