Peacock Greenlights First Live-Action Fast & Furious Series for 2028

Vin Diesel said the franchise had held off on television because it wanted to protect the characters and their appeal, and credited Universal chief Donna Langley’s oversight of NBCUniversal’s TV operations with convincing him the move was right.
Diesel said fans wanted the franchise to expand its legacy characters and their stories, offering the clearest indication so far of the series’ creative aim, even though no specific plot or cast has been disclosed.
Diesel announced that Peacock was launching four shows from the Fast & Furious universe, suggesting a wider TV expansion beyond the newly greenlit series.
The franchise has already had a television adaptation: Netflix ran the animated series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers for six seasons from 2019 to 2021.
Diesel said filming for Fast Forever is due to begin in December; he has also hinted that the film may bring back Paul Walker’s character Brian O’Conner, and confirmed on Instagram that a role was written for Cristiano Ronaldo.
