Four sailors were injured during an aircraft recovery mishap aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower off Virginia at about 6:18 p.m. on Sept. 28. Two aviators assigned to Carrier Air Wing 3 ejected and were safely recovered, then returned to the carrier for medical evaluation. One injured sailor was taken to a Norfolk-area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other three received care aboard ship.
