Skoda Auto Volkswagen India begins production of the updated Slavia sedan in Pune.

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India has begun production of the updated Slavia sedan at its Chakan plant in Pune, ahead of India’s festive-season sales period. The refresh brings revised styling and added comfort and technology features, including a 360-degree camera and rear-seat massage function. A new eight-speed torque-converter automatic is paired with the 1.0-liter TSI engine; the 1.5-liter TSI continues with a seven-speed DSG. The Slavia retains its five-star Global NCAP safety credentials and has recorded nearly 80,000 sales in India, according to the company. Deliveries are expected around the festive season, while prices for the updated model are yet to be announced.
The updated Slavia retains its overall sedan silhouette but adds a redesigned grille with vertical chrome slats, sharper LED headlamps, revised front and rear bumpers, updated tail-lamps and new multi-spoke alloy wheels.
The cabin adds lighter dual-tone trim, while higher variants continue to offer a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster alongside the 10.1-inch touchscreen; other equipment includes ventilated, electrically adjustable front seats, wireless charging and a six-speaker system with a subwoofer.
The infotainment system gains an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud, and the rear-seat massage function is described by Škoda as a first for the Slavia’s segment.
The 1.0-litre TSI produces 115bhp and 178Nm, and its new eight-speed automatic replaces the previous six-speed torque-converter unit; the six-speed manual remains available.
The refreshed Slavia was unveiled on 18 August, when pre-bookings opened. Six airbags are standard across the range, but the five-star Global NCAP rating is carried over rather than the result of a newly announced crash test.
