Trump Expresses Support for Data Centers Despite Low Public Support in Communities

President Donald Trump has expressed his admiration for data centers, particularly in areas near his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. Speaking following a meeting with tech CEOs, Trump said that companies would be generous with communities financially and otherwise. He also suggested that they would help with schools, teachers' pay, and partnerships with communities when they open up data centers. However, a recent University of Massachusetts Amherst poll found that only 11% of Americans would support the construction of an artificial intelligence data center in their local community. Tech companies like Microsoft have been reassuring citizens that their data centers are just fine, promising to reduce electricity prices and reduce water use.
