Alleged International Drug Syndicate Handler Navpreet Singh Extradited From Turkey to Delhi

A Delhi court has ordered 10 days of police custody for Navpreet Singh, an alleged international drug trafficking handler brought back from Turkey India Today. Singh operated a smuggling network moving heroin and methamphetamine from Afghanistan into India while using a fake Turkish identity The Hindu. Delhi Police will take Singh to Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra during his custody period India Today. Singh's network smuggled heroin and methamphetamine produced in Afghanistan across borders into India Times of India. Singh's cousin, Prabhdeep Singh, was deported from Azerbaijan in May 2026 as a key operational link in the smuggling network Swarajya. The extradition of Prabhdeep provided investigators with crucial information about Singh's Turkey-based operations. Both cousins operated different segments of the same international drug trafficking organization.
The BHARATPOL portal, launched in January 2025, connects over 1,400 state and central law enforcement agencies with Interpol Press Information Bureau. This system accelerated the tracking and deportation of Singh by speeding up international information sharing. Amit Shah stated the government aims to dismantle all domestic and foreign-based narco-cartels by December 2029 The Hindu.
