White House AI Portal Delivers Fact-Based Answers That Contradict Trump Claims

The White House launched America.gov, an AI-powered portal designed to help people find federal information and eventually complete government services, using technology including Google’s Gemini and xAI’s Grok. Its chatbot gave evidence-based answers contradicting President Donald Trump’s claims, including that Joe Biden won the 2020 election, widespread fraud did not change the result, Americans bear the cost of tariffs, consumer prices are not falling, and fewer migrants crossed the border under Biden than Trump has asserted. It also cited estimates that Trump’s signature policy law could increase the national debt, leave more than 10 million people without health insurance, and widen inequality. By the following day, some politically sensitive questions reportedly prompted refusals framed as “political commentary,” while other tests still received factual answers. The platform’s privacy safeguards have drawn attention, but experts found that some identifying details could still get through despite measures such as account-free access and personal-information removal.
When asked whether American households had become twice as wealthy since Trump took office, the chatbot cited Federal Reserve data saying they had not; it said 73% of adults reported doing okay or living comfortably, unchanged from recent years.
The chatbot distinguished isolated election crimes from widespread fraud, saying such crimes had been investigated and prosecuted but were not evidence of fraud large enough to reverse the certified 2020 results.
Trump described America.gov as a single digital “front door” for government questions and said it could save users “hours and hours” each year.
The article reported that New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim asked the chatbot whether the Iran war was the main reason for rising gas prices.
