SNK Announces 10-Game Metal Slug Collection for 2027 Release

Metal Slug XX, the updated version of Metal Slug 7, is not included in the compilation.
The collection’s announcement addresses criticism of existing PC releases, which Prima Games says are particularly bare-bones and affected by significant input lag; M2’s involvement is presented as a reason for confidence in the new emulation.
The location-test version of the original Metal Slug is described as appearing on consoles for the first time, giving players access to a build that has been unavailable to console audiences for 30 years.
The compilation was revealed during a Nintendo Direct presentation, and its Steam page is already accepting wishlists.

One notable omission: Metal Slug XX, the enhanced version of Metal Slug 7, is not included in this collection Games Asylum. Players seeking the expanded XX content will need to look elsewhere.
Beyond the core games, the collection bundles modern conveniences arcade fans never had. Online co-op lets players tackle campaigns together remotely Noisy Pixel. Rewind and save features erase the penalty for tough moments. Score and time-attack modes add competitive depth Invision Community. A museum section displays artwork, music, and franchise history for deep dives into Metal Slug's legacy.
