Adidas Unveils Redesigned Five Ten Freerider Mountain-Bike Shoe Lineup With Clipless Options

Adidas has unveiled a redesigned, four-model Five Ten Freerider mountain-bike shoe range, with flat-pedal and clipless options developed alongside professional riders. The lineup retains signature Stealth-rubber grip while adding updates such as impact protection, revised fits and, on the clipless model, an extra 5 millimeters of rearward cleat adjustment. The new shoes are the first Freeriders to pair Five Ten branding with Adidas’ three stripes, signaling a closer integration of the labels. The range is scheduled to reach stores in March 2027, with prices starting at $120; its clipless model made its debut at the Whistler World Cup.
The Freerider Pro BOA uses a single Li2 BOA dial, while the clipless Pro BOA has a dual-dial system.
The clipless shoe’s cleat slot is marked for different setups: “DH” indicates the former Hellcat rearward position, while “SEND” allows riders to move the cleat an additional 5mm back.
The entry-level Freerider replaces its previous cupsole with an EVA midsole, a change Adidas says makes the shoe lighter and more comfortable when walking.
The Freerider name is being used on a clipless shoe for the first time, combining its flat-pedal heritage with the clip-in performance associated with Five Ten’s Hellcat.
