GOP Senator Warns Anthropic CEO Against Alarmist AI Approach Ahead Of IPO

Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) has warned Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei against an "alarmist approach" and "panic-inducing commentary" on AI. Moreno's letter comes ahead of Anthropic's expected IPO, with valuation estimated at nearly $2 trillion. Moreno criticizes Amodee for encouraging Americans to invest in Anthropic while simultaneously warning them that their product could lead to their extinction. He replaced AI with super intelligence (SI), replacing AI with the term "doomer" views about the potential for AI to kill humans. Moreno urged more emphasis on AI's ability to protect against safety threats and strengthen national security.
