Historic Australian mine triples gold resource following extensive drilling program near Parkes.

Recent developments highlight the expanding scope of mineral exploration and investment. In Western Australia, exploration targeting gallium, niobium and rare earths has also detected preliminary copper indications, which require certified laboratory testing before their significance can be established. Near Parkes, New South Wales, drilling more than tripled the London-Victoria gold resource to 383,300 ounces, with the company reporting further potential across the project. In Nevada, Glenstar Minerals is analyzing seismic survey data to map structures and guide follow-up exploration after drilling confirmed polymetallic mineralization in complex geology. Canada is also seeking to accelerate mining and other strategic projects through coordinated federal reviews and proposed permitting reforms, as it works to strengthen domestic critical-mineral supply chains.
The London-Victoria mine began operating in the 1870s, and modern open-pit operations ended in 1996. The latest resource update followed a systematic 85-hole drilling program.
Adavale said mineralisation at London-Victoria remains open in every direction, including at depth and along strike, while several nearby prospects have only begun to be tested.
At Nevada’s Green Monster Project, Glenstar’s seismic survey covered four cross-sections along 2,400-foot arrays and imaged the subsurface to 600 feet, targeting features such as faults, bedrock depth and overburden.
Canada’s Major Projects Office had received 27 nation-building initiatives since September 2025, representing about C$500 billion in potential private investment; mining referrals include McIlvenna Bay, the Red Chris expansion and the Matawinie Graphite Project.
Proposed Bill C-39 would set a one-year federal review and decision timeline after a complete application is submitted, and introduce a ‘one-window’ approach to better coordinate assessments and permitting.
