Apple Expected to Launch Lighter MacBook Pro With OLED Touchscreens This November

The current 16-inch MacBook Pro weighs about 4.7–4.8 pounds, compared with 3.3 pounds for the 15-inch MacBook Air, giving a sense of the potential weight reduction Apple is targeting.
The redesigned laptops are reportedly being tested with macOS 27.2.
The touch interface is expected to supplement, rather than replace, the keyboard and trackpad; Apple reportedly is not designing the laptop as a typing-on-screen device or a Mac-iPad hybrid.
Reported macOS touch features include controls that expand when tapped, contextual menus that appear near a finger, and support for scrolling and pinch-to-zoom.
Apple is redesigning its high-end MacBook Pro to be significantly lighter, shrinking components and rearranging the internal layout, according to Engadget. The 14- and 16-inch models are also expected to feature OLED touchscreens, a thinner enclosure, and a Dynamic Island-style display cutout, with the redesign potentially arriving by November, iClarified reports.

The new MacBook Pro will be Apple's first touchscreen laptop and the first to use Tandem OLED panels, News SSB Crack reports. The OLED technology combined with a thinner enclosure will contribute to the overall weight reduction.
