Early Voting for Winnipeg Municipal Election Begins October 5 Across Multiple Locations

Winnipeg residents can vote at any advance voting location, regardless of where they live in the city.
City Hall voting is on the second floor at 510 Main Street, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; it is unavailable on weekends and Thanksgiving.
Specific hours vary at the temporary sites: Canada Life Centre voting runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; shopping-centre and IKEA hours are generally 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with shorter Sunday hours.
When using two identification documents, both must show the voter’s name and at least one must show their current address.
Winnipeg voters can cast ballots early for the Oct. 28 municipal election starting Monday, Oct. 5, through Oct. 23. CityNews reported that advance voting is available at City Hall, Canada Life Centre, shopping centres, IKEA, and 15 community ward locations. Voters can choose any location regardless of where they live in the city and must bring ID showing their name and current address.
City Hall voting runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second floor at 510 Main Street, but closes on weekends and Thanksgiving, CTV News reported. Canada Life Centre opens 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shopping centres and IKEA generally operate 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with shorter Sunday hours. Ward-based community voting stations open Oct. 19–22 across all 15 neighborhoods.
The city will deploy election staff to hospitals, care homes, post-secondary schools, and other facilities to help people vote on-site. This mobile approach ensures voters who cannot travel to regular polling locations can still cast ballots during the advance period.
Voters must bring identification showing their name and current address. Winnipeg Free Press noted that a single document like a driver's licence works, or voters can bring two documents — both showing the name and at least one showing the current address. This flexibility lets voters use combinations like a passport plus a utility bill.
The Oct. 28 election covers three positions: mayor, city councillors, and school board trustees. CityNews reported that voters can cast ballots for all three races at any advance voting location. Early voting gives residents more than two weeks to participate before election day.
