Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Inaugurates New Dharavi Redevelopment Showcase in Mumbai

The redevelopment is being undertaken by Adani Navbharat Developers, a joint venture between the Adani Group and Maharashtra’s Dharavi Redevelopment Authority/Slum Rehabilitation Authority, across a 621-acre area.
The proposed plan includes rejuvenating the Mithi river, planting around 40,000 trees and creating a 3.3-km public riverfront.
Fadnavis specifically cited pottery, leather, food processing and plastic recycling among the industries that make Dharavi a major economic hub.
The centre, located in PMGP Colony near the Bandra-Kurla Complex, featured the song “Dharavi Ka Kal,” sung by Shankar Mahadevan, and the book “Mere Sapno Ki Dharavi.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis opened a 22,500-square-foot Dharavi Experience Centre near Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex, giving residents a firsthand look at the proposed redevelopment of Asia's largest slum. Daily Excelsior reported the centre features life-size apartment models, 3D neighborhood walkthroughs, and interactive displays explaining housing plans, business space, and community facilities for the 621-acre project.
