Boil-water advisories or notices are in effect for affected customers in Groveland, Gadsden County and elsewhere in Florida; Park City, Kansas; and Natchitoches and parts of North Lafourche, Louisiana. Groveland’s advisory followed a roughly 30-minute pump shutdown that temporarily lowered pressure for an estimated 2,500 to 3,000 residents; the city is awaiting test results and plans to replace its plant control system. Park City’s Bear Hill subdivision is awaiting bacterial test results and state review after chlorine levels returned to acceptable levels, while the Gadsden notice covers about 219 customers. Natchitoches issued an advisory for part of Second Street, and North Lafourche’s notice followed damage to a storage-tank roof vent. Residents in affected areas are advised to boil water for one minute before drinking or using it for food preparation, and notices will remain in place until authorities confirm the water is safe.
