Nation marks twenty-fifth 9/11 anniversary as Iran conflict drives US diesel to record highs.

The U.S. commemorates the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which left nearly 3,000 people dead and left nearly three million people on the ground. President Donald Trump attended a ceremony at the Pentagon and former Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Joe Biden also attended. Diesel prices in the US have hit a record high, reaching a national average of nearly $6.06 a gallon. This comes as the war with Iran disrupts the world's flow of fuel. Despite progress in reopening the Strait of Hormuz, the conflict remains costly for both sides. Yemen's Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have taken an island in a key strait, opening a new front in the Iran war. Meanwhile, Iran-backed rebels in Yemen are increasing attacks on Saudi Arabia.
