Dave's Killer Bread brings back popular pumpkin spice bagels after a seven-year hiatus.

Dave's Killer Bread is bringing back Pumpkin Spice Madness Bagels after a seven-year absence. AZ Central reports the organic bagels are now available at major retailers nationwide and will stay on shelves through November while supplies last.
The bagels pack 10 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber per serving, flavored with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. A survey of 2,000 Americans found 54% prioritize taste over nutrition when choosing bagels—but 77% of consumers say they care about organic ingredients.
Dave's Killer Bread originally launched Pumpkin Spice Madness Bagels around 2017 to ride the fall flavor trend. AZ Central notes the brand shelved the seasonal product by 2019 to focus on core organic offerings like whole-grain loaves and mini-bagels.
The company, founded in Portland in 2005, built its reputation on USDA Organic whole grains with no artificial ingredients or high-fructose corn syrup. Now the brand sees strong demand from loyal fans—called "BreadHeads"—who wanted the seasonal flavor back.
The relaunched bagels combine fall flavor with nutrition. Each serving delivers 10 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber, made with organic whole grains flavored with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cristina Watson, Senior Director of Brand Management, calls it "Pumpkin Spice season, but with a DKB twist."
This approach bridges two markets: people who want seasonal treats and people who want nutritious ingredients. AZ Central notes the five-packs carry a suggested retail price of $6.49 to $6.99 and are positioned as a better-for-you alternative to traditional sugary seasonal pastries.
A survey commissioned by Dave's Killer Bread of 2,000 adults reveals a striking preference: 54% of Americans choose bagels for flavor over nutritional value. Only 34% prioritize nutrition when buying bagels. AZ Central reports bagels rank third among favorite breakfast options—33% eat them regularly—behind only oatmeal and muffins.
That said, organic matters to consumers. AZ Central notes 77% of consumers say they care about organic health benefits, and over 70% of Generation Z parents prioritize organic ingredients for their children. The survey found 63% of people think bagels are a year-round breakfast food, not just seasonal.
