New Hope Corporation Lifts Total Coal Resources to 2,960 Million Tonnes in 2026 Update

New Hope Corporation Limited has updated its coal resources and reserves statement as at 31 May 2026, delivering a total resource increase of 413 million tonnes compared to the previous period to reach 2,960 million tonnes. This increase is driven by revised geological models across the company's two primary operations, including the Bengalla Mine, which saw an increase of 262 million tonnes and an increase in underground and open-cut domains within existing mining leases and exploration areas. The company holds an 80 per cent joint venture interest in the Bengala Mine, representing 100 per cent of total resources and reserve estimates. At the New Acland Mine, exploration drilling and updated geological modelling within mining leases resulted in a total of 151 million tonnes, lifting resources to 636 million tonnes from 485 million tonnes in 2025. However, access to the third pit at New ACland requires additional regulatory approvals beyond New ACLand Stage 3.
