GoldHaven Commits to Fully Funded 2026 Drill Program at Historic Kuhn Tungsten Zone

GoldHaven Resources Corp. is launching a fully funded diamond drill program in 2026, targeting the historic Kuhn Tungsten Zone at its 100%-owned Magno Project in northern British Columbia, according to Montreal Gazette. The program will initially drill 5,000 metres, with room to expand to 10,000 metres if results justify it.
The move comes as China — which controls over 80% of global tungsten supply — imposed de facto export blockades in early 2025, pushing Western nations to scramble for domestic sources of the critical metal, per Market Screener. Tungsten is essential for armor-piercing ammunition and aerospace technology.
The Kuhn Zone holds a historical resource of 616,500 tonnes grading 0.48% tungsten trioxide (WO3) across four underground lenses, according to Market Screener. That estimate predates modern NI 43-101 standards, which is exactly why GoldHaven wants to drill — to verify and expand it with current methods.
Surface samples have returned striking numbers beyond tungsten. County Market reports values as high as 2,370 g/t silver, 20% combined lead-zinc, and 334 ppm indium — a rare metal used in flat-screen displays and solar panels. CEO Rob Birmingham called Magno "a compelling district-scale silver and critical minerals exploration opportunity."
GoldHaven did not enter 2026 underfunded. In March 2026, it closed the first tranche of a $2 million flow-through financing, raising $1.72 million. By May 14, a second tranche pushed total flow-through proceeds to $3.26 million, according to Brantford Expositor.
The company then launched a C$5.0 million Listed Issuer Financing Exemption (LIFE) offering in April — essentially a streamlined public raise — through Research Capital Corporation. Combined, GoldHaven has secured over C$8.26 million in 2026 alone. The Crag and Canyon notes the company had to upsize its financing rounds multiple times due to strong investor demand.
GoldHaven did not rush into drilling blind. In January 2026, surface exploration confirmed high-grade tungsten hits up to 6,550 ppm at the Kuhn Zone and identified a brand-new area called the Vines Lake zone. On April 1, the company formally submitted permit applications to the BC Ministry of Mines, according to Prince George Post.
On May 28, GoldHaven expanded its airborne magnetic survey from 1,741 to 2,237 line-kilometres across the 37,200-hectare property. The survey — run by Dias Airborne Limited — is designed to produce the first modern, property-wide geophysical dataset, per Recorder. The goal is precise drill targeting before a single metre of core is pulled.
China's early-2025 tungsten export restrictions put Western defense supply chains on alert. Canada and the United States both flagged tungsten as a priority critical mineral in their 2025-2026 strategies. Edmonton Examiner reports that GoldHaven sees Magno as a direct answer to that gap, offering a non-Chinese source inside Canada.
Analysts have drawn comparisons to the Hercules Metals Leviathan discovery, suggesting GoldHaven may be chasing a large feeder system at depth. Still, Chatham Daily News cautions that the company must convert high-grade surface results into a coherent underground resource — a process that is expensive and carries real execution risk.
