Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton States Republican Midterm Convention Hurt Poll Numbers

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the Republican nominee for Senate in the Lone Star State, has stated that the Republican National Committee's midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, 'dropped our numbers' politically. This comment was made at a private fundraiser attended by conservative donors and lobbyists. Paxton's comments were dismissed by his senior adviser Nick Maddux, who accused The New York Times of "managing nonsense" to create a story that doesn't exist. The convention was part of a larger effort by the Republican Party (RNC) to revitalize the base and revitalize Paxton. Despite this, Paxton remains trailing Democrat James Talarico by two percentage points in polling averages.
